چکیده

We discuss the combination of permutation codes and M-ary frequency shift keying. We show that this combination has special properties that can be used in power-line communications: e.g. constant envelopes, and error correction capability for impulsiveand narrow band noise. We give a simple convolutional encoding and decoding scheme. The outputs of a binary convolutional codes are mapped onto code words of a permutation code in such a way that the Hamming Distance is preserved, or even increased in some special cases. The demodulator consists of a classical envelope detector followed by a “soft-decision” matrix indicating the order of envelope magnitudes. We also show how permutation codes can be used to allow for multiple users with controlled interference.

Low Complexity PAPR Reduction Technique for Coded OFDM Systems with Scrambling Approach

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is basically a frequency division multiplexing technique which uses a multicarrier scheme. Due to the efficient behavior in multipath fading environment OFDM used in many physical wireless systems. OFDM suffers from high Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) compared to the single carrier systems. In this paper we have presented a PAPR reduction te...

Multilevel amplitude shift keying in dispersion uncompensated optical systems

The authors model and characterise the performance of 10 Gbit/s 4-ary amplitude shift keying (ASK) systems in dispersive environments at 1550 nm. Both non-return-to-zero (NRZ) and return-to-zero (RZ) formats are examined, with comparisons to on-off keying (OOK) in each case. Both single amplified links and cascaded fibre-amplifier links are modelled. While 4-ary ASK systems suffer a back-to-bac...

Probability of symbol error for MPSK, MDPSK and noncoherent MFSK with MRC and SC space diversity in - Wireless Communications and Networking Confernce, 2000. WCNC. 2000 IEEE

This paper derives analytically some simple closed form expressions for the average symbol error rate (SER) of M-ary phase shift keying (MPSK), M-ary differential phase shift keying (MDPSK) and noncoherent Mary frequency shift keying (MFSK) over a Nakagami-m fading channel with Lfold maximal ratio combining (MRC) and selection combining (SC) space diversity receptions. Numerical results demonst...

Performance of Two Level Turbo Coded 4-ary Cpfsk Systems over Awgn and Fading Channels

This paper presents performance of two level turbo coded 4-ary continuous phase frequency shift keying. In this system,, to provide phase continuity of the transmitted signals, turbo encoder and continuous phase encoder (CPE) are serially concatenated at the second level, while first level consist of only a turbo encoder. Simulation results are drawn for proposed system over AWGN, Rician and Ra...

An Insight into BER Performance of Reed- Solomon coded M-FSK under AWGN, Rayleigh and Rician Fading Channels

Besides the hardware complexity and hence increased power consumption, M-ary modulation schemes ensure improved performance and bandwidth efficiency. But, in wireless sensor networks where power consumption is a critical issue, it is required to consider non-coherent M-ary schemes together with the possible ways of improving their performance. This paper is a study of BER performance of Reed-So...
